- The name is a contraction of SERvice TO MAnkind

- We service the southwest side of Chicagoland
|
- Founded in 1912 - Second oldest civic organization in the US
|
- We were chartered in 1960 as a 501 (3)(c) charitable organization
|
- 40,000 members - over 1100 clubs
|
- Our 26 members raise over $18,000 annually. Each chapter is responsible for its own sponsorships and fund raising
|
- Sertoma promotes friendship and fellowship to create an opportunity for community service
|
- We raise funds through three major fund raisers: Candy Days, Dinner Dance Raffle and the NASCAR raffle
|
- Sertoma furthers mutual tolerance, cooperation and understanding among all peoples
|
- Besides helping others, we have an active social club
|
- Sertoma International is headquartered in Kansas City, MO
|
- We meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM and the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM
